Kris Wernowsky oversees the crime and court staff at cleveland.com. He’s worked with the company since 2014. A native of central Illinois, he’s a graduate of Western Illinois University. He spent more than a decade covering criminal justice and other issues at publications in Northeast Pennsylvania, the Florida Panhandle and in St. Louis. Prior to moving to Northeast Ohio, Kris oversaw a TV news station in his hometown of Quincy, Illinois. He also owns a miniature pinscher named Jay Prescott Sherman.
